Tarot 101 for Adults: Beyond Fortune-Telling

Tarot 101 for Adults: Beyond Fortune-Telling In-Person

Let's talk tarot! This event is for anyone who wants to learn more about tarot cards. This is a lecture-style program with Q&A woven throughout. The presentation will cover basic tarot instruction and theory. Rather than working to memorize 78 discrete card meanings, we’ll approach the tarot holistically, as a symbolic and archetypal language. As with any language, you won't become fluent in reading tarot overnight, but you'll leave the program with a clear framework to begin to develop your own tarot practice at home.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a notebook and pen, plus your favorite tarot deck (but it’s okay if you don’t have one yet!). Although this program will not include personalized readings or card interpretations from Kate, you may find it useful to engage with your own deck throughout the presentation.

This program isn’t about “fortune-telling,” psychic predictions, or pinning down “what the cards mean.” This is about empowering YOU to explore new avenues of self-reflection and personal growth!

About the presenter: Kate Sheridan, a.k.a. The Laundress, is a tarot reader and astrologer who believes that fortunes are created rather than told. Her approach is therapeutic rather than predictive, and her work is deeply informed by Jungian psychology. You can find her on Instagram @themodernlaundress or online at thelaundresstarot.com.
