American Artists Series: Georgia O'Keeffe, Beyond the Blossoms Online

Flower painting has long been the realm of women artists, so it is not surprising that Georgia O’Keeffe is best known for her revolutionary floral still lifes. Of course, in her eight-decade-long career, O’Keeffe explored a variety of subjects, including the skyscrapers of NYC and the deserts of New Mexico. This program will shine a light on other subjects and examine the ways O’Keeffe employed abstraction to become known as the “Mother of American modernism.” Join art historian Jane Oneail for this Zoom presentation.

There will be book discussions in conjunction with the American Art Series. On April 19 at 1:30. We will be discussing “Georgia: A Novel of Georgia O’Keefe” by Dawn Tripp. This is a hybrid discussion; you can join in person at the Rodgers Memorial Library, register at events.rodgerslibrary.org, or by Zoom, write events@rodgerslibrary.org for link. Be sure to mention which event you need the link for.  Books are available to Rodgers Library patrons at the library. Others, request a copy at your library.
