American Artists Series: The Wyeths, An American Artistic Dynasty-Virtual Program Online

The Wyeth family of artists is known for their somber realism and subtle storytelling. This program will explore the style of painting and illustration established by N.C. Wyeth in the early 1900s and passed on and re-interpreted by his children, primarily Andrew Wyeth, and his grandson Jamie Wyeth. Learn more about their favorite subjects, influences and enduring impact in the art world. Join art historian Jane Oneail for this Zoom presentation.

There will be book discussions in conjunction with the American Art Series. On March 15 at 1:30, we will be discussing “A Piece of the World” by Christina Baker Kline. The novel tells the story of Christina Olson, model for Andrew Wyeth’s iconic painting ”Christina’s World.” This is a hybrid discussion, you can join in person at the Rodgers Memorial Library, register at events.rodgerslibrary.org, or by Zoom, write events@rodgerslibrary.org for link. Be sure to mention which event you need the link for. Books are available to Rodgers Library patrons at the library. Others, request a copy at your library.
