Genealogy Club: NH's Simon Leavitt Hobbs, a Case Study

Genealogy Club: NH's Simon Leavitt Hobbs, a Case Study Online

Developing a sketch, or a case study, about a life in the past can uncover sources of information that may not have been explored before. Join us to learn about the life of the Rev. Simon Hobbs and his missionary work in Indian Territory. Born in Candia in 1813, Simon lived longer and traveled farther than many men of his time. As we fill in his time line, we will note the wide range of sources that were consulted to reveal events in his life. Sometimes, the most valuable tool is collaboration.

Sara E. Campbell is a genealogical writer, editor and lecturer whose article about the Hobbs family "To Indian Territory and Back Again" was awarded second place in the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists' 2020 writing contest.
