Poetry Reading & Prize Ceremony Online

April is National Poetry Month, and the Rodgers Memorial Library invites you to enter its Annual Poetry Contest.

Prizes will be awarded in five age categories:

  1. 2nd grade and younger
  2. grades 3-5
  3. grades 6-8
  4. grades 9-12 and
  5. adults.

People may submit one poem in any format - online, via email, or on paper - for the contest:

  • You can complete the online form here
  • Paper entries may be mailed to or dropped off at the library.
  • Email entries can be sent to askus@rodgerslibrary.org - either type the poem into the body of the email, or attach it to the email in PDF or Microsoft Word format.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 16.

There will be a prize ceremony and poetry reading on Zoom on Thursday, April 22 @ 4PM. Anyone who submits a poem may read their entry as long as the subject matter is appropriate for general audiences. All prize winners are invited to register for the Zoom event.  

Winners may pick up their prizes at the library after the ceremony.
