Poetry Contest!

Poetry Contest!

April is National Poetry Month, and the Rodgers Memorial Library invites you to enter its Annual Poetry Contest.

Prizes will be awarded in five age categories, donated by the Friends of the Library: 2nd grade and younger, grades 3-5, grades 6-8, grades 9-12 and adults. People may submit one poem in any format - online, via email, or on paper - for the contest:

  • You can complete the online form here
  • Paper entries may be mailed to or dropped off at the library, at the senior center, or with your public school librarian.
  • Email entries can be sent to askus@rodgerslibrary.org - either type the poem into the body of the email, or attach it to the email in PDF or Microsoft Word format.

The deadline for submissions is Thursday, April 30.

There will be a prize ceremony and poetry reading at the library on Wednesday May 13 at 3:30PM. Anyone who submits a poem may read their entry as long as the subject matter is appropriate for general audiences. All prize winners are invited to attend.
