Amoskeag Mill Yard Field Trip and Book Discussion

Amoskeag Mill Yard Field Trip and Book Discussion In-Person

The Afternoon Book Discussion Group is reading Amoskeag: Life and Work in an American Factory City by Tamara K. Hareven. In conjunction with the book discussion, we have organized a guided tour of  the Manchester Millyard Museum and a visit to the Lego model of the Amoskeag Mill, the biggest textile mill in the world at the beginning of the 20th Century, at the SEE Science Center. You can participate in the tour, whether you read the book or not. We will meet at the library at 1:30pm for a discussion of the book.

Schedule of Events

10:00 a.m. Tour of Millyard Museum, 200 Bedford St. Manchester. Adults $7, Seniors (62+) $5.

11:30 a.m. Visit Lego Mill Model (We have made a special arrangement to visit just the model and instead of the $14 museum admission they ask that everyone make a donation, we suggest a minimum of $5)

Noon: Head back to the Rodgers Library

12:30 p.m. Bring a lunch or chip in for Pizza and Salad at the library.

1:30 p.m. Book Discussion.

Please Register so we can let the museums know the group size.
