The Anxious Generation: Book Discussion and Workshop

The Anxious Generation: Book Discussion and Workshop In-Person

Book: The Anxious Generation: The Great Rewiring of the Teenage Brain by Jonathan Haidt

Are you concerned about anxiety in yourself or your loved ones? Join us for an engaging and enlightening workshop that addresses the pressing issues surrounding anxiety in today’s world. Leave with an individualized action plan to improve attachment with your children of any age - or with anyone you care about.

Based on the groundbreaking insights from Jonathan Haidt's work, this two-part workshop is designed for adults of all ages—whether you’re a parent, educator, caregiver, or simply someone interested in fostering healthier relationships.

First Session: Participants will pre-read The Anxious Generation, which is also available in audio format as a ten-hour lesson. Then, through a combination of listening and learning, you will leave this session with a personalized action plan to “Unplug” or reduce device use, enhance attachment, and build a positive self-image in those you care about.

This session is perfect for parents of children of any age, as well as anyone looking to improve their relationships and connections with others.

• Second Session (Feb. 12 @ 6:30pm): We will come together to share the "collective wisdom" gained from implementing your action plans and discuss the results. This collaborative environment will allow everyone to learn from each other's experiences and insights.

• Bonus Material: Discover how to change the tone of your household for just ten cents a day! Simple, actionable strategies that can make a big difference in your home.

Who Should Attend:
This workshop is for anyone who wants to understand the science behind anxiety and its impact on relationships. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, teacher, or friend, you’ll gain valuable insights and tools to support yourself and those around you.

Space is limited, so be sure to secure your spot! Registering for this event will automatically register you for the second session on Feb. 12 @ 6:30pm. If you are unable to attend both sessions, you may still attend the first one, simply call the library or ask someone at the circulation desk to cancel your registration for the follow-up session.

We look forward to welcoming you and working together to create a supportive environment for all ages. Let’s take this journey toward understanding and healing together!

Physical copies of the book can be acquired at the circulation desk for check out.
