Knitting: Beginners Class In-Person

Registration is now closed for this series of classes.  Stay tuned for our next fiber series coming in February.

Learn the basics of knitting in this 4-week course! Learn about: 

  • Yarn
  • Needles
  • Casting on
  • How to read a pattern
  • Basic knitting stitches (knit, purl)
  • Binding off

We’ll take you step by step through your first knitting project: A beautiful basketweave scarf! (See image.)

Materials required:

  1. Yarn (provided)
  2. Size US10 (6mm) needles, pictured here (wooden) and here (aluminum). The library has a few pairs we can lend, but it is strongly recommended you purchase your own. You can purchase needles through Amazon, or by visiting Joann's, Michael's, Walmart, etc.
