A Musical Double-Header: WWII Music & Wacky Songs In-Person
The government-sponsored drive to unify the country and increase morale both at home and in the military during World War II was aided by popular songs of the era. We will listen to many of them. From there we segue into wacky songs that used laughter to reduce tension, help forget troubles, and express frustrations.
About the presenter: Cal Knickerbocker, a former instructor, and education manager at IBM, has taught at the University of Texas, Dallas, and for RISE students since 1999.
This event is done in collaboration with Rivier University's RISE program.
